Colleges & Universities

Spartanburg is home to six institutions of higher learning, three are located within the City limits, Converse College, Spartanburg Methodist College and Wofford College. the City has the highest per capita college student population of any major city in the State.

The City joined forces with the area colleges to form a College Town consortium. For collaborative social and academic programs to showcase the institutions of higher education in the community.

College Town Intiative was born out of this idea in an effort to identify Spartanburg as a vibrant college town and develop a positive national image for both the colleges and the city.
