Communications & Marketing

The City of Spartanburg’s Communications & Marketing Department is responsible for providing accurate information to its citizens in a timely manner. Media relations are key to this responsibility, as is providing support to other City departments. In addition to working with the news media, we release information about City services, programs and events primarily via the website and City Channel.

Creating awareness of pertinent events of interest to the community is also managed through marketing activities that include the creation of logos, posters, flyers and other promotional material. In the past year, some of these programs focused on youth leadership development, recycling, large neighborhood retail grand openings and anniversary events.

CITY CHANNEL

Tune in for 30-minute programs that provide updated information about City events, community leaders and public safety. Also available on the 24-hour bulletin board is timely information about council and community meetings, job openings, community meetings and many other alerts. The City Channel is made available by our franchise agreement with Charter Communications. It is stipulated that this be a non-commercial PEG (Public-Education-Government) channel. CITY WEBSITE
The Communications & Marketing Department is also responsible for maintaining the City’s website. Information includes details about City government, services and a calendar of events. Also available for download are various forms and applications.
