Mayor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities

The Mission of the Mayor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities is to enhance employment opportunities in the Spartanburg area for people with disabilities by increasing community awareness of the talent pool available, seeking opportunities and options, and educating employers about the benefits.

The motto AWARENESS, EDUCATION, AND EMPLOYMENT sums up the Committee's efforts to inform our community and encourage positive response to our neighbors who want and need employment. I therefore encourage all caring citizens to consider representing your community or organization on our Committee.

• The Committee seeks to:
  heighten public awareness of successful placement and performance.

• increase employer awareness of employment obstacles and offer solutions.

• cooperate with all civic groups, agencies and the Governor's Committee to promote rehabilitation and employment plan and implement activities which promote employment. 

• recognize the significant contributions of students, employees, and employers as well as other community citizens.
