Emergency Home Repair Program

Helping those in need with emergency home repairs

Home repairs are never easy for any homeowner to deal with, but for our low-income, elderly, and disabled neighbors, dealing with serious, unexpected home repairs can be almost impossible. The City's Emergency Home Repair Program is designated to provide financial assistance toward home repairs for qualifying homeowners, assisting those homeowners in keeping their homes safe and in good repair.

How to qualify:

  1. Home must be owner-occupied, in the City of Spartanburg, and the home's owner must be elderly (age 62 and above), permanently disabled, or must have a household income no higher than 50 percent of the area median income.
  2. Home must be determined to be substandard. A substandard housing unit is defined as unsafe, with conditions—either structural or sanitary—that adversely impact the welfare of those who live there.
