Morgan Square Renovations
The renovation for Morgan Square in downtown Spartanburg began in April, 2005. The plans include wider sidewalks, a fountain, more plants and trees, and a new road and parking patterns.
The $2.5 million project completely transform the square into a much more pedestran friendly gathering spot in the heart of downtown.
The statue of Revoluntionary War hero, General Daniel Morgan was removed in April, 2005 and was relocated to its original location of 1881. It is placed within 20ft. of the geographical center of Spartanburg.
The reconstruction was completed in December 2005.
