City of Spartanburg Finance Division
The Finance Division provides financial information and support to all City departments, other government agencies and the public. This division is responsible for maximizing the investment of City funds, maintaining a stable financial position, coordinating pension benefit transactions, and coordinating the City's annual audit by an outside agency. Specific activities include:
- Invoicing and accepting payments for services that are provided by other City divisions. These services include, but are not limited to, trash collection, parking fees, animal licensing, and alarm registration.
- Issuing business licenses and enforcing business license codes
- Collecting hospitality tax
- Conducting periodic audits of business license fees and hospitality taxes
