Creative Taste of Spartanburg began in 2008 as the signature celebration of the City’s eighteen month Creative Energy Campaign. The event was originally planned as a one time festival, but it was so successful and well received by the community, it continues annually on Labor Day Weekend.

Location: Downtown Spartanburg - west of Morgan Square and the Clock Tower on Ezell St., King Street, West Main Street, & Daniel Morgan Avenue.

Attendance: Thousands of people come to downtown Spartanburg to for the annual “Taste of Spartanburg” event.

Cost: Admission to Creative Taste is FREE to the public. Food, beverages, art, and other items are available for purchase. Restaurants, food/beverage/cooking-related businesses, and non- profit groups selling food are all eligible to participate as vendors at the event.

Attractions: Restaurant Row featuring Spartanburg restaurants and chefs; a “Cook’s Corner” featuring all things food, beverages, and gadgets for sale; “Made in Spartanburg” area highlighting local cookbooks, bake sales, produce and more. Also featured is a wine tasting by Carriage House Wines with more than 60 different wines from around the world. The flavor of Art Market features local and regional painters, potters, photographers, jewelry makers and textile artists. A favorite area at Creative Taste is the “Lemonade Stand,” where children can create their own chef hats, decorate cookies and make edible necklaces. Face painting, games and prizes are offered. Live entertainment offers some of the best local talent around.


Applications currently being accepted for Creative Taste of Spartanburg:

If you are a Spartanburg Restaurant, food/beverage/cooking-related business, or non-profit group selling food, you are eligible to participate as vendors at the event.

Creative Taste of Spartanburg’s participants are divided into three sections: “Restaurant Row,” “Cook’s Corner,” and “Made in Spartanburg.” Below are the definitions & fee for each category.


Restaurant Row - Creative Taste showcases restaurants throughout Spartanburg County on Restaurant Row. This is the perfect opportunity to offer “tastes” of some of your best items on your menu. This event will allow you to turn those “tasters” into “diners.” Restaurant Row participants actually cook and sell on-site. Fee: $250 (included in fee is a 10X10 tent & 2 - 8’ tables) There is also a $100 refundable deposit required for all Restaurant Row participants.

Cook’s Corner - The Cook’s Corner area is for businesses selling any kind of product that has to do with food, beverages, or food preparation. Fee: $50 (10 x 10 Space only is provided.)

Made in Spartanburg - This area is for local non-profits/church groups who would like to sell produce, baked goods, cookbooks, crafts relating to cooking, etc. Fee: $25 (10 x 10 Space only is provided.)

Application Deadline: Applications are due August 11th - After this date, applications will still be accepted but the fees will increase. Hopefully this will encourage you to get your application in early!
