Building Inspections

The Building Inspections and Permits Department inspects all new construction within the City of Spartanburg. Our department is responsible for issuing all construction related permits. Types of permtis issued by our office include building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, demolition, sign, fence, sprinkler, fire alarms, moving, street cuts, grading, and sewer tap permits. In addition our office is responsible for the review of all commercial construction plans for code compliance. Our job is to insure that all construction plans are code compliance and to insure that all construction is built in compliance with all applicable codes and ordinances. We strive to provide a safe building environment for all citizens of the City of Spartanburg.
