City of Spartanburg Budget and Accounting Division
The Budget and Accounting Division provides financial information and support to all City Departments, other government agencies and the public. This division is responsible for creating the City's annual budget, monitoring expenditures, and fixed assets. Specific activities include:
- Preparing bi-weekly payroll for over 500 employees
- Reporting and accounting for all state and federal grant expenditures
- Monitoring the health insurance fund
- Issuing over 7,000 accounts payable checks each year to various vendors
