Council member Robert Reeder named to National League of Cities Community and Economic Development Steering Committee
Reeder to help shape NLC economic development policy
Spartanburg City Council member Robert Reeder has been appointed to serve on the National League of Cities (NLC) 2014 Community and Economic Development Steering Committee. The committee is responsible for developing NLC federal policy positions on issues involving housing, community and economic development, land use, recreation and parks, historic preservation and international competitiveness.
Councilman Reeder states that participation on this committee will help future progress with the City of Spartanburg's Southside and Northside initiatives, Beaumont Mill Project, Downtown Economic Development, Parks and Recreation, as well as other city issues relating to community, housing, land use and historic preservation.
As a member of the committee, Councilman Reeder will play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocate on behalf of America’s cities and towns before Congress, with the Administration, and at home.
