Five storefronts available for Main Street Challenge winners in western half of Downtown Spartanburg

Last week, when we announced that 31 applicants had submitted their business ideas for this year's Main Street Challenge, one thing became immediately clear: Anyone who thought this year's contest wasn't going to match the energy of last year was wrong.

Of those concepts, restaurants and other food and drink businesses (such as an ice cream/candy shop, chocolatier, tea house, etc.), were well represented with 13 total. Add to that, nine retail, seven professional services, and two entertainment concepts, and we've got the makings of a huge sophomore year for Downtown Spartanburg's most innovative economic development program.

As if that weren't enough, this year's winners also get to pick from a wider selection of available storefronts, 13 in all, with a size and location to suit practically any business concept under the sun. Today, we're taking a look at five of those storefronts located on Morgan Square and in the Grain District. Check out the photos below (click on any photo for a description of the space, and leave a comment below to let us know some of the businesses you'd like to see open in these great storefronts.
