Fire Suppression

Fighting Fires in Our City

Firefighters putting out a fireEasily the most important job of the Spartanburg Fire Department is putting out fires wherever they occour in our city, and no matter when those fires occur, we're here to protect our citizens 24 hours per day,  seven days per week. Working from five fire stations around the city, the Spartanburg Fire Department's 74 professional firefighters are always just minutes away from any call, providing a rapid response time unmatched by other areas in Spartanburg County. The City Fire Department is one of only 33 departments in South Carolina to earn a Class 2 rating from the New Jersey-based Insurance Services Office, placing the city in the top five percent in the state and top 1.2 percent nationwide for fire suppression services.
