The City of Spartanburg receives annual entitlement funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) based on annual federal budget appropriations. Each year, the City seeks to maximize the benefits of these funds by partnering with local organizations to conduct eligible activities that primarily benefit low-moderate income residents of the City of Spartanburg.
In accordance with the requirements of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, 24 CFR Part 91 et al., the City of Spartanburg will make available the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) application for the Fiscal Year 2022 funding: July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023.
The FY 2022 CDBG and HOME applications are available below. Hardcopies are also available upon request in the Neighborhood Services Department at 440 S Church Street, Suite B, on weekdays, between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm.
The City will hold a Public Hearing on recommendations for Funding Allocations for CDBG and HOME in March 2022. Notice of awards is anticipated to be made in August 2022, after approval from Spartanburg City Council and HUD.
All applications and copies must be received by 4 pm on January 29, 2022. Those received after the deadline will not be reviewed nor considered for funding.
