In Spartanburg, we're always forging productive partnerships that allow us to accomplish things you might not expect from a city our size. There is no better example than B-Cycle. The first bike-sharing system in the Southeast, B-Cycle previously had only been tried in places like Denver, Chicago and Seattle until Spartanburg unveiled its own system in 2011.
Made possible through a partnership with the Mary Black Foundation, Wofford, Converse, City of Spartanburg, CVB, Spartanburg Regional Foundation, JM Smith Foundation, VCOM and Partners For Active Living, the B-Cycle system allows people to rent bikes for a daily, monthly or annual fee from one of 4 different stations - at the trailhead of the Mary Black Rail Trail; downtown at Broad and Spring streets; Wofford and Converse - with a fifth station opening soon at Harvest Park. B-cycle offers a special discounted pass for students with a valid .edu email address.
